the Hook Up!

So a couple of weeks ago I was shooting with this photographer who is married to a marketing director at MAC. Well I got to look at some kinda old MAC promo books while I was waiting for the hairstylist to finish, and I noticed they used these books to take phone messages. (I was salivating!) Well, the photographer noticed I was taking notes of the makeup look I did in my little notebook and handed me a fresh an new MAC Backstage Book! These are harder to get than those damn face charts! I'm loving it and I'm happy to have it, I just don't wanna use it an mess it up! I have to get an artists sketch pad.

Thanks to Karen and my clever powers of deduction, I had a feeling the Naughty Nauticals collection would be on counter early at the MAC Pro Showroom. I was right!! I had to get my hand on the blue nail lacquer and that Port Red lipstick before they went from LE to SOLD OUT!

She asked me to send her an email of suggestions to help make the studio more photographer friendly, since some of the photographers I shot with there have some suggestions to make it better, as well as for something else she's proposing.

Lenard Smith Exhibit & Studio Visit

Try and make time to see photographer Lenard Smith's exhibit at ICP. If you can, try an stop by for a studio visit. Looks like he's finishing The ICP-Bard MFA Program in Advanced Photographic Studies.

Don't we love photographers with an artistic point of view?

I strongly believe in working with student photographers!! I've worked with a few peeps from SVA, another photographer I shoot with goes to ICP (I think.) He had to do a project based on a film he had never seen before. So he rented "Lost in Translation." He couldn't get the Asian girl he wanted, she was in London...next thing I knew, he was on a plane to London.

If you don't have passion, creativity burning inside you....what do you have??

Unfortunately, just as things started heating up on set...the studio suffered a melt down and sent us home early. Oh well, there's always another day! Time for a cocktail!
